Your Favre-led Minnesota Vikings

Can we just say something about this? I know most are tired of it but c'mon, admit it you went from "Crap, Favre isn't coming back, we're not going very far this year" to "So, you're saying we've got a chance" in a split second, right? I did.

That video is a keeper. Side splitting funny.

Agreed, but watching the press conference yesterday I thought I can't beleive this jackass is the QB of my team.

If T-Jac is feeling slighted in the least, he should shove those feelings down deep inside and collect a paycheck. The worst thing that can happen to a mediocre QB is to actually have to play and show everyone how mediocre they are. He should just keep riding the NFL paycheck train as long as he can.

I have to agree...we are better off with Favre than without him. I just hope things go 85% as well as they did last year, or this has the potential to be a train-wreck.

RTS - my justification to all the haters out there is this: I am able to separate Favre the personality (in all its douchebaggery) from Favre the QB of the MN Vikings. It's all about wins and losses...

Agree 100% on TJAC. Back-up NFL QB is the best job in the world.

Allow me to drop a large, wet blanket on these proceedings:

Thank Kang & Kodos we're in a pennant race and it's going well. That way I can continue not paying much attention to the Vikes for a while, and I won't lose too much sleep wondering how fucked we are if we don't have Percy Harvin this season.

BG, I think most of the haters will call your justification "rationalization." God bless, though. I myself am wavering a little - after a year in purple, and now three seasons since he last played for Green Bay, I'm finding it easier to not look at our QB and think "Why is the Packers quarterback wearing a Vikings helmet?"

The truth is, the Vikings have a kickass uniform, and great training gear, and, at least as Jan tells me, Brett Favre, handsome devil that he is with his silvery hair and sly smirk, wears it well. Some Wranglers to go with that new Vikes mesh cap, Jan?

I'm fearful of this season. Something tells me a recipe containing high expectations, Childress, ankle braces and migraines comes out of the oven flat. Did you guys ever get that re-creation of the hot air balloon thing figured out? I sense bad juju because we didn't make that happen.

On the other hand, we could have one or two epic games against Green Bay this year, if they're as good as advertised.

Justification, rationalization, what's the difference when you are a Vikes fan?

Here's another wet blanket:

Apparently, the "real reason" Favre waffles so much is that he doesn't like Chilly. This wouldn't surprise me, but again, if we're winning, nobody will care.

As the Sports Guy says...we're all cheering for laundry. Just go out and beat the Saints in Sept. 9th.

Oh - great call on the hot air balloon fiasco. I saw some special on the NFL network about the Vikings 4 super bowl losses and they actually showed the footage of that botched landing.

Drama? Yes but at least we're not Cleveland.

Harvin - It's a killer if he doesn't play. Think about the offense he produced last year (2nd in total yards, I think) Not sure what he is going to do as he tried to play through a migraine today and he apparently simply looked up to return a punt and the sun in his eyes dropped him to the ground and sent him to the hospital. I feel for the kid.

Favre/Chilly Schism Part Deux - The knock that Chilly isn't a great offensive mind is not really surprising, right? I think this is a lot to do about nothing. Winning will take care of things, so will losing.

MCA - You need to get on board the Vikings ship this year early and start rowing with the rest of us. Not asking for blind optimism from you but something close to it. What do you have to lose by pushing all your chips in? In the meantime, DTK and I will work on something to reverse the balloon curse.
