Dogs?
What is up with broke ass people and dogs? Why do all the broke ass people I know or see own not one but multiple dogs? My grandfather had squatters in his second home, long story don't ask. They had multiple dogs. I read an article on on CNN about a lady living in her Ford Explorer in Malibu. She had multiple dogs sleeping in there. Now a friend of mine who was just worried about losing his home gets a second dog. I don't get it. Someone please explain it to me or tell me I am wrong.

"Broke-ass" people have dogs because they need to feel loved. Nothing loves you like a dog. Dogs also tend to be very cheap and or "free" usually coming in a cardboard box by the side of the road. Ergo broke-ass people buy dogs. Simple.

Yes, the initial cost is cheap. But it does cost quite a bit to own a dog. It costs to feed it, to take it to the vet, the ability to have a second job and for these deadbeats the ability to have a first job. My guess is this shortsightedness (is that a word) is just a symptom of their poor decision making ability that put them in their situation in the first place.

RTS - I think you solved it, broke-ass people are broke-ass for a reason, buying/owning dogs is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the terrible decisions they have made over the course of their lives.

There is a guy who lives out of his truck and occasionally parks in our neighborhood at night (it's SF, after all, so it's considered pretty normal and acceptable). Anyway...you guessed it, he's got a dog. Poor thing gets chained to a sign-post some nights. Brutal.
P.S. My man-crush on Pavano grows with every start.

Broke Ass People, or BAPs as they are commonly referred to, frequently own dogs because they provide them with a sense of hope and optimism through companionship that has otherwise been robbed from them by the daily rigors of a life just trying to make ends meet. Also, they are usually crazy and talk to them or use them as a living beat bag to kick, punch and generally abuse to take out the rage that burns inside of them because they are trapped.
***That's not including blind BAPs. They use the dogs to get around.
******Ok, it does. They totally beat the shit out of their dogs because they can't see.

Not going to lie to anyone, I was a little worried when the Twins dropped the second game. I am happy with 3 of 4. They have to beat on these crappy teams.
