I swear to god, I will push an old person down if it will get this monkey off our back. I feel like the old days when mike pagliarulo would take his bat and anally rape us like a new york cop in an immigration raid. It's just got to end soon.

I think it comes to a head today and we break out all over them. But if not, let me be the first to say, I hate New York, I hate the way it smells like pee, I hate the way people bump into you no matter where you go, i hate the way they act like there's a neverending list of things to do which they never actually do, i hate the way they act like being obnoixious is a virtue for its honesty,i hate the way they wont stop talking about 9-11, i hate that frickin guy who keeps singing god bless america. Note to New York: we gave at the office. Move on.

In short, I hate New York. That's the point I'm trying to make.

FINALLY! Fucking-A, that took long enough. Winning the way they just did might actually just get the demons exorcised. Joba and Rivera both fail in the late innings and we win it with a salami? Unpossible!

RTS, you're a betting man. I'd put $20 on the Blue Jays tomorrow, I think. Huge letdown potential.

Maybe something changed for us against them. kinda significant what Kubel did off Rivera. More impressive that Rauch put 2 on with no outs to start the 9th then struck out Jeter, Gardner and Teixeira to hold on for his 10th save in 11 chances.

Either way, we'll know in a couple weeks when the Yankees come here.

MCA, I am with you with the cash on the BJs today. If it was anyone but Slowey pitching I would probably go with the Twins.

I like Gardy's quote "As far as I'm concerned, we're 1-0 against the Yankees in our last one game played. We'll construe the numbers any way we want now."

Morneau looked pissed up there that we never beat the Yankees and he is responding. Let's hear it for the 2006 MVP. Inside the numbers for the Canadian in 2010 - .362 average, 9 HRs, 25 RBIs, .481 OBP, .661 SLG.

I'm going "New Era Twins" on this road trip even though we are apparently 4 for 15 in our last trips to Fenway and "The Rogers Centre" (look, it's that cute 're' ending they do in Canada!) We have 2, two game series; we at least split, right? BG?

Yeah, not enough love being shown for Morneau lately. He's leading the AL in batting average and OBP right now! Not to mention second in slugging. If it weren't for the overrating of counting stats, he'd be the clear early season MVP candidate instead of battling with Miggy and getting no attention.

By the way, what happened to the Mauer Power? Just two homers so far? Not complaining, mind you. He's still 10th in the league in OPS. I guess it's still cold out. Actually, other than the first 2 weeks of the season, this team's hit a lot less homers than I had expected. Delmon and Kubel also only have 6 combined, which I guess is a big part of that. Plus, Punto, Casilla and Harris only have one total - I was really counting on their power bats this year.

Oh, also, annoying factoid: Detroit's 6 games over .500 and +4 in run differential. One can look at that and think, well, they're bound to regress to the mean, then, and lose a bunch of close games to creep back toward .500. But one could also look at it and think those are wins in the bank that they shouldn't have based on how they're playing, and they'll probably play better as the season progresses.

We must split the next two mini-series vs. the Jays and Red Sox. The Jays appear to be a solid team this year, despite losing Halladay, so this will be no gimme, especially coming off the emotional streak-buster yesterday.

Oh, MCA, we were doing Jager shots this weekend had the Twins lost yesterday.

I really think there may be some lingering bitterness among the East Coast media over Morneau beating out Jeter for that MVP. Seriously, I read a column the other day that paranthetically referred to Morneau as a fraudulant winner. I say bullshit! It's not a lifetime achievement award! Sorry again New York!

Thank you Jason Kubel. Wow...
