The Doo-doo in Detroit

That was terrible, just terrible.

Gardy to Baker as he came to mound to pull him: "Alright Scotty, gotta go." Says it all.

I'm not as worried about today - it was our b-squad lineup, and Willis has actually been decent this year outside of one awful performance that drove his ERA up.

More concerned with Baker's destruction and, yet again, failing to pitch to his potential for weeks at a time. I've come to the conclusion he's just not that good (due to inconsistency), and never will be. Which is terribly disappointing.

As for the rest of last night, part of me thinks "Well, you're gonna have games like that. Next play." Still, wow. That was brutal how quickly things turned. Why did Burnett get taken out? What was Neshek's problem?

Why the fuck is Jesse Crain still on this team?

Same ump who was behind the plate the night before and mysteriously opened his strike zone by 4 inches the last two innings, leading to tossing Span. Now he can't even get thirty feet into the outfield on a ball that floated up there for like 7 seconds. That was obviously a catch. Span took three steps before the ball came out. Brutal series, blue. Brutal.
