So, this is what it's come to. In the last couple months we've resorted to hanging our hats on: UMD wins hockey title, Jerry Kill runs good practices, OSU football sitting under the guillotine, and now 20-year-old who begged not to be drafted will come play for the Timberwolves. This is literally the best news on the Minnesota sports scene in 6 months. Ugh.
On the plus side, I hear there's a really good 14-year-old girls basketball star out in Waseca who has a Gophers pennant her dad gave her up in her bedroom, so she might end up at the U. We've got that going for us.

Seriously...this sucks! I keep waiting for the Twins to make their patented mid-season run, but it's not happening. Every time I check the score on my phone in the early innings, we're up 3-1. Then, when I check back later in the night, we've lost 4-3. It's brutal...
At least it's almost football season. DOH! Vikes are rebuilding and will likely be starting a rookie at QB (if there's a season at all). NU could be decent this year (if Persa's achilles is fully healed), but the Gophers will go 4-8 at best.
Well, I can fall back on my bandwagon fandom of the SF Giants. Yikes...you mean their franchise position player (Buster Posey) is out for the year after getting steamrolled at home plate and shredding his ankle?!? SWEET!
Thank goodness Lebron isn't going to win an NBA title this season...wait, what? You mean to tell me the Heat are on fire (no pun intended) and will likely take the series in 5 games? Oy vey...

We need to start planning the re-landing of the Vikings hot air balloon as discussed. Who is with me? Probably gonna cost you limited time and considerable money. Sign up now. We also have to get Gary Anderson to line up and hit that field goal to get rid of the 1998 ghosts (not because he caused the loss but because that was the kick that kept him from being perfect.) We'll sell t-shirts that say:s "Re-boot."
