Day Game Recap at TF

Day game in June now requires sunscreen.

The video below says it all. As DTK and I hung out by the flag poles in right and Morneau stepped to the plate, Jan called the shot and almost grabbed his 15 minutes of fame but, alas, it wasn't meant to be.

Big win. Big win.

Is that you running over in the bue/grey shirt? If so,did you grab the guys testicles who did get the ball?

Nice work Jan... I see that you were faced with the tough choice of ditching a nearly full beer and going for it vs. a half-hearted run/walk... as you sipped that cold refreshing beer afterwards and reminisced with DTK about how close you were, I think, deep inside, you realized that you probably made the right choice.

Day game+ June+ cold beer+ outdoor stadium+ MN= pretty darm close to heaven

Yeah, it looked like the weather could not have been any nicer. And to MCA's point, let's see if we can get back-to-back quality starts. Luckily, our de facto ace Pavano goes tonight vs. the Rays.

Jan - you looked like a tailback following his fullback through the hole as you lunged for that ball.

Also, how on earth did you come up with that video?

If anyone comes across the video of the missed tag last night please post it. It must have been terrible since they were talking about it on sports radio down here. Usually they do not talk about anything other than the NL East.

Yeah...the "missed" tag was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. Even the runner stopped and gave up (since he had been tagged)...until he realized that the ump hadn't called him out. Luckily, it didn't end up making any difference in the game.

I got to see the last few innings, as it was on MLB network. Brutal. We manufactured a run in the bottom of the 8th to take a 4-3 lead, only to blow it in the 9th. Rauch had 2 outs and 2 strikes on Longoria and then absolutely grooved a waist-high fastball to him. And when you throw 91, you can't groove fastballs...ugh. Such a tough loss. He also had two strikes on Crawford before he hit a roller up the middle.

I have to say, the sheer tenacity with which Jan attacked that situation was truly inspiring.

He did call the shot, and he played it off the camera stand perfectly. Grace, timing and ruthlessness. All caught on tape.

What you didn't see was him knocking the ice cream out of the little kids hand and standing over him like ALi over Sonny Liston.
