VIkes and the number "4"

Get ready to blow your mind:

  • Vikings have lost all 4 Super Bowls they have played in
  • Vikings have lost all 4 NFC Championship Games since then
  • Vikings lost in Super Bowl IV - 40 years ago
  • Vikings are playing this weekend to go to Super Bowl XLIV (44)
  • Favre (4) threw 4 tuddies last weekend
  • Vikings are 4-4 on the road this year.

Number of points the Saints are favored by - 4.

Number of times Drew Brees will turn the ball over -4.

My dad went to Super Bowl IV, so there may a direct link between the Vikings past futility and the RTS family.

I saw this on Craiglist today:

Wow...I think we win for sure, as #4 will be money on the field once again, and #28 = four x 7 (the points awarded for TD plus PAT), and he may score four TDs on Sunday.

Bobby Hebert was on local sports talk radio here in SF this AM. Remember that guy? I actually think he was the QB when we trounced the saints in the playoffs back in 1987 (or was it '88?), when Anthony Carter was an absolute beast.

bobby hebert was definitely the qb in that game. also, tommy kramer came in and was great and then pinched a nerve in his neck diving for a ball. after that he got drunk again, i think. that was pretty much the end of him.

the other thing that was weird about that game was we got a free kick at the end of the first half as a result of a very obscure rule involving something happening at the end of a half. but i can't remember what. sometimes i see puppets and they talk to me.

Because I was present at the last Vikings road win, it is incumbent upon the contributors of FTLOSBW to:

(1) get jobs
(2) secure my airfare and lodging to Miami via New Orleans

This will ensure all the proper juju for a successful continuation to the playoffs.

Gentlemen of FTLOSBW I present you - "Top Hat" Johnson who attended Vikes v. Pack Round Deux in Green Bay and has continued to take the Purple as his dog in this fight. Skol to you, Top Hat. As for your trip to Miami via New Orleans, I'm on it.

Oh, DTK and I are technically underemployed.

Tophat, if you know of anyone in the Atlanta area in the financial industry, specifically trading, I would like to speak with you further regarding the matter.

As far as your trip to Miami I have secured a Greyhound bus ticket. Unfortunately, as if a greyhound bus ticket was not low enough, you need to leave first thing Monday morning in order to make it to the Super Bowl by kick off.

4- the number of years I will wait to make contact with anyone who calls or texts me during the game.

I question whether I even have the will power to not peak at a score. I was unable to do it with the Ohio St / Iowa game this year when I was on a mini vacation.
