On the ESPN standing, it is giving the Twins a 66% chance of making the playoffs to the CWS 33%.

I was out doing business last night. The guy I was out with had asked about texting me about when we should meet up blah blah blah. I said I am not a texter, it was just better to call. Well that all changed as I had Jan texting me every half inning from the 4th on. Good thing I send him business and not the other way around.

I was also out at a shindig and had bg texting me until the 5th.

Question: Would this be as much fun if it were anyone other than the Sox we were doing it to?

Answer: NO. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3610015

Civil War for the South Siders. I feel badly for Jr. He must be wondering what the hell is wrong with this organization, and how on earth they managed to win a World Series three years ago. "I have to finish my career in this kind of a clubhouse?"

If we win the division, the Sox get blown apart to start all over again. Williams might be gone. Ozzie might quit. It is a total meltdown. You can put it on the boooooaaaaaaard, YES!!!

I knew Casilla was gonna get a hit.

If I were given the choice to watch the game now, I would watch the Hawk and friends annouce it over Bert and company just to hear the agony.

Wish I had Gordo on with the call, haven't heard it yet but he had to go bonkers. Bremer calling that triple by Span just gives me goose bumps. That was the biggest game we have won in a long time. No, it would not have had anywhere near the emotion if it had been against Baltimore.

When we scored those 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th, I just knew that something was going to happen and we were going to win. My better half couldn't bear to watch and while I usually retreat to the closet, I couldn't keep my eyes off the game. I am trying to find a video of the "Let's go Pun-to" chant that was going on in the bottom of the 10th becuase it was surreal as it lasted his entire at bat (and as Howard said in his blog, probably distracted Punto enough to help him draw that walk.)

As I was updating RTS (who was at a business dinner) with text messages, I broke with tradition and called him after that Span hit. He picked up the phone and in a hushed voice said "This has to be good because I am sitting at a business dinner. . . " Sorry RTS, I had just woken up my neighborhood with screaming and shouting and needed to talk to someone.

I said it yesterday, Ozzie's problem is that he has a team full of guys who aren't sure they like each other.

It's days like today when I wonder why anyone is a Vikings fan. They just never pull off stuff like this. I just put in an order for two new Twins caps online; one for me, one for Peter.

By the way, it bears mentioning that this is the 6th youngest team in the majors, and that the core of the lineup is all 27 or under. Span: 24, Casilla: 24, Mauer: 26, Morneau: 27, Young: 23, Gomez: 22. Even Buscher and Kubel are only like 26 or 27. And the rotation's just as young. We should trade Cuddy for a 3B/DH this offseason and pencil ourselves in as Central favorites for the next two years. 2010, baby.

Amazing! Not sure there is much I can add, as I was forced to gamecast it last night. Talk about the one night where it would have been worth it to plunk down $199 for the MLB package...jeez. When MCA called, I knew Casilla must have gotten a hit, because the gamecast hadn't updated yet, but he wouldn't have called for a groundout. I watched the highlights on ESPN like 3 times. Span's reaction after the triple gave me goosebumps...as you RARELY see professional athletes get that excited and emotional after a big play. Bremer's call on Casilla's single was pretty good...he was already hoarse, and he yelled something like: "And the Twins take over first place!"

Not to throw down a wet blanket on this...but we CANNOT have a let down against the Royals. Gardy needs to somehow get these guys re-focused on KC. Hopefully, the crowds will be into it again this weekend, as everyone was mentioning how much the crowd impacted the game last night.

Jan, how big of a tool is Ron Coomer on that postgame show? He reminds me of a guy who just walked out of his cabin in Brainerd, grabbed a suit and a microphone, and started talking to a camera.
