The Randy Moss era part deux comes to an end
3 other things the Vikings could have done with the 3rd round draft pick they traded for Moss:
3. Draft another project QB like Tavaris Jackson.
2. Write the words 3rd round draft pick on poster board and burn it.
1. Fail to turn in a pick on time and slide down the order.

Note to team that picks up Moss off of waivers: Randy Moss is volatile and has an attitude problem. Oh and the earth revolves around the sun.

Has there ever been a 2-5 team that gets more non-game coverage than this? What a f'ing circus. Embarrassing. Chilly's starting to make Mike f'ing Tice look like he had a clue.
I think we're fast approaching the all-time low water mark for football in the state of Minnesota. A loss to the Bills in a couple weeks should get us there.
Anyway, glad we've all gotten off the carousel. Beautiful fall weather in these parts.

Yeah, this whole team and situation has degenerated from a media obsession into a full-blown embarassment. Zygi needs to act on Childress. The dude has completely lost the team. I actually like the job the front office has done over the past several drafts, but Chilly is the pits. He basically cut Moss as a way to reassert his authority. Problem is, he's not Belichick. He's not as smart, and he's never won anything. Nice try...
The AZ Cardinals come to town at a perfect time.
Low water mark is right...the Gophers apparently looked like a high school team compared to THE OSU.

Add to all of this the fact that a decision on Favre's dong photos is due any week now, and this could go down as the weirdest debacle ever in the NFL. Actually, I bet Lions fans feel way better right now than we do...that says it all.

Clown show 2010 continues!

At least this has all been handled smoothly.

this whole thing is such a debacle I can't even handle it. Now, the story is that Moss went on a tirade during a team lunch last Friday about how bad the food was, in front of the local mom-and-pop restaurant owners that catered it. I can't imagine that was the reason we dumped him, but it sounds like it contributed.
There is one possible silver lining: apparently Zygi is super upset about how this went down, and there is a chance that he fires Chilly and hires Leslie Frazier, which would be awesome...as Frazier will be head coach somewhere next year. Why not with the Vikes?

Why not? Because he's currently coaching a defense that's failed to produce a sack in three consecutive games for the first time in franchise history.
I'd be fine with a dress rehearsal for Frazier, but I fear he's so high on the "this guy's due for a HC gig" list I that the Vikes would feel duty-bound to give him the job for real. Which might be fine, but I'm not completely confident that as a first-timer he's the longterm answer for the coming rebuilding project that's going to get started in a couple months. Not when Bill Cowher's still out there. Pipedream, I guess.
All I know is Bud Grant is metaphorically wiping a single tear from his noble cheek this week.

The good news is if the Vikes hire Frazier then the Gophers can go after someone else.

Can the Vikes afford to let another black, defensive coordinator go? I mean Dungy, Tomlin, Frazier?

Moss sounds like an asshole.

Fair point, MCA. The Defense's performance this year has left quite a bit to be desired. Though I think some of the blame early on can be laid at the feet of an offense that must lead the league in 3-and-outs. But your point on sacks is very relevant...why aren't we blitzing and doing SOMETHING to get the D-line loose?
There is definitely a temptation to assume he's the next Tomlin (or Dungy)...
