Twins v Red Sox

So anyone else get the feeling that the crown jewel of this last road trip was the win in the Bronx on Sunday and that the players just want to get home now? 4 runs in the last two games? C'mon.

Anyone else get the feeling we might be middle of the road in AL East if we were in that division?

We usually stick it to the Brewers, bring on tomorrow.

I get the feeling that we are going to muddle through a little bit, and hten light up the second half of the season. or at least thats what we usually do. This year we just stacked up some early wins.

the frustrating thing is we seem to be off kilter when we hit and when we pitch. how about winning 3-2 and 11-9 once in a while?

I also want to point out that i am going to begin ranting about the umps. Possibly incoherently. So get ready.

Baseball has got to do something because these guys are terrible and i really do believe they are getting worse and more inconsistent. I am not blaming last night on them, though there were some of the worst called strikes I have seen in a long time, I'm just saying they're all over the field and miss shit all the time. Maybe I'm still pissed from last year's ALDS disgrace, but come on Blue, you're supposed to be professionals.

May 20th, i.e. still relatively early in the season.

Teams are still figuring themselves out, Kubel still remembering how to hit the ball- and Baker how to throw it. I'm not terribly concerned right now, it feels like we have a lot more of the pieces this year (though we should with MLB's 11th largest payroll)...recent so-so performances aside, this team still really excites me, especially with the assumption that another arm or two will be able to be picked up down the stretch.

If we lose tonight, I'll be a touch concerned. If we win, however, taking 2 of 4 in ballparks we don't win in, and stealing one at Yankee Stadium, all with Hardy on the DL, I'll be OK. Most playoff teams are only around .500 against other playoff-type teams, and make their living winning series against lesser teams, so I wasn't expecting 4-3 or better on this trip. 3-4 would suit me alright. That's provided we come back and beat up on the Brewers a bit and then hold our own against the Yankees at home.

The pitching has been a problem lately, too. Not stringing together 4 or 5 quality starts in a row here, and need to at some point.
