Is it OK to be excited after three games? Is it?

So, I think we all know I am not prone to hyperbole or getting excited too soon and too fast. That's a given. But is it OK to get really really excited about this Twins team after three games? Is it OK to say this may be the best Twins Team in the history of the franchise. Maybe baseball history? I'm not saying you can tell how a whole season will turn out from just three games. You cant, unless it's a four game season, like maybe a strike shortened season. I doubt that will happen.

All I'm saying is, there's a lot to be excited about after these games. Hardy and Morneau are crushing the ball. Cuddy has continued his hot streak from last season all the way through spring training and into this series. We have won two games in LA where we suck. Like always suck. We look good up the middle. Pavano looked like he did at the end of the year, which is more like he looked when he looked good, then when he looked like he looked when we first signed him because he was cheap. I know, I know. It's just three games. But it's spring, so it's fun to get excited.

Ya, boys. Make that three games taken. It seemed to me like we've had problems with the Angels forever, and sure enough, right there in the middle of the game writeup I saw this: "Minnesota hasn't won a season series against the Halos since 2002, the year they lost to them in the AL championship series." And I'm guessing we haven't won a series in Orange County since at least then. So, we can check "not sucking ass against California" off the to-do list for the season. Let's hope we get the chance to do the same for Boston and that one other team I can't remember that we seem to have trouble against.

Also, 9 homers in the first four games? WTF? And Cuddles and The Bearded One aren't even on the board yet. Nice. In what game did our starting shortstop hit his second homerun last season? I'm gonna guess the answer is higher than "the third."

Trying to keep it in check, but that's a nice way to start the season. Two solid outings from Pavano and Slowey, too. Let's go, Francisco!

Gents, I am very excited. As mentioned ee just took 3 of 4 from the Angels at the Angels. This was not taking 3 of 4 vs the Royals.

Has there ever been this much power (potential power) in the Twin's line up? Even Delmon has a pair.

I hope we keep it rolling and let the White Sox know early that this is not their division to win.

Not to mention, is it me or is it great to see Jim Thome play in a Twins uniform?

Thome's homer last night was very satisfying, because in the reverse situation (tie game, we're pitching with two guys on), he has victimized us for WAY too long. RTS mentioned it, too, but how 'bout Delmon having two dongs already?!? We seriously have one weak spot in the lineup (looking toward third base)...how great is that? Oh, and we have two guys who can DH and crush the ball. Remember when Ron Coomer was our best bat?

Time to send Hawk Harrelson into mid-season whining form, starting tonight!

Agreed re: Thome. Almost surreal to see him hitting a bomb FOR us after all this time.

Also, the new Away unis are outstanding.

What I love is that after the Sox spent the last four years trying to model their team after the Twins, due to Ozzie's open jealousy of our roster construction and style of play and their complete mindfuck inability to win in the Humpdome, we've traded places and they're still a step behind. Now they're a light-hitting team in a bandbox stadium relying on pitching and speed, and we've evolved to have a potent offense better suited for our new stadium. Ozzie's team is built to win in the Metrodome, and the Metrodome is gone. Ha. Ha.

I'd love to take two of three this weekend and have a 2.5 game lead over Chicago after just a week of play.
