Vikes v. Cards - The Turd in the Desert

Not much to report on that farce of a game. That Vikings team looked like the Vikings that we are all too familiar with - those that don't show up on gameday. It was almost like they didn't want to be there and when Loadholt went down followed by McKinnie (yes they both came back in) I knew we were in for trouble. Losing EJ is tough but true champions step up. I guess that loss was bound to happen (not really but I'm trying to make sense of it.)

Game balls:

Vikings - none.

Face it - we were out coached & outplayed. All I can say is that I'm glad we're 10-2. If I were the owner of the Vikes, and one day I will be, I would put the front page of the Arizona Daily Courier Gazette from today on the locker room wall just as a reminder.

Every team has a bad day. I believe there is something to let downs on west coast road trips. I don't think the Raiders beating the Steelers and Eagles could be chalked up to anything else.

The Vikes looked flat all the way around. The only pass rush last night was the one that was constantly getting to Farve. The tackling was poor. The second Aquan Boldin TD should have only been a moderate gain. Do I need to mention AP's night?

I am not worried, it was just an off week.

Flat is right. The recap of the halftime onfield interview with Chilly- said the very same thing- they did not play with the same energy as they typically do.. both sides of the ball looked a little overwhelmed by the situation. Not a fun game to watch0 but as discussed previously, it is only one game- and at 10-2, maybe a loss at this point isn't the worse thing that came happen.

One thing is for certain- we really miss Winfield in that secondary- especially against a throwing team as potent as the cards.

Point taken, RTS, although the Raiders won in Pittsburgh yesterday, so that example doesn't quite hold up.

The good thing about the game last night is I was asleep by 10:05.

Impressions:

- Probably good to have Bad Brett make his inaugural Vikes appearance now rather than in the NFC Championship Game.

- I had been thinking it was a little funny how with each passing week, more and more Vikes fans (generally, not y'all specifically) were allowing themselves to believe that Bad Brett was never going to show. So now that we've seen it, are we all terrified of when he'll pop up next? Clearly his picks and general play weren't the deciding factor or even close to it, which helps, I guess.

- Losing Henderson might be really costly in the long run. He and Greenway have been pretty impressive this season, from what I've seen.

- It's almost impossible to root against Fitzgerald.

- Which makes it really suck that he plays with Kurt Warner.

JHC, I am on a roll. First, the CDH post and now the Steelers/Raiders gaffe. I need to hire a new fact checker. Wanted one female in her early 20's who will work for free.

Fellas - Jan put it best when he said that game was a horror show. From the minute Breaston took that punt back, I knew we were in trouble. Warner essentially played a perfect game, and his receivers grabbed everything in sight. I think Sidney Rice is becoming a poor man's Fitz, but wow is Fitz good. Did you see his old man inhaling an ice cream sandwich?

The EJ injury will have a huge impact. By all accounts he was having a monster year...RTS's boy Greenway will have to step up. I just feel bad for the guy, as that's got to be one of the most painful injuries of all time...and it has shortened his season for the 2nd straight year.

Personally, I was glad to get the "bad brett" game out of our system. You knew it was coming...

Looks like the playoffs will go through New Orleans...
