Week 2: Avoiding the upset

Thoughts from yesterday:

1. When we were down 10-0 to start the game (watching an offense that was sputtering and a defense that was getting run on) I had no feelings of panic, anxiety, or frustration. 2nd week of feeling like we would come back and win this one handily which we did.

2. Favre - workman-like performance (23 of 25 or something like that.) Just effiecient.

3. AP - Can't say anything more about this guy. He hit guys yesterday and hit them hard. He wants to win and you can tell every run.

4. Defense - they go run on. Not sure what is going to with the Williams (particularly Pat) Wall.

5. Offense - it will come. We already miss Birk.

Good to be 2-0. If this was your father's Vikings football team (or your's for that matter) we would be 1-1.

I've never seen a guy who can both get to the corner as proficiently as AP does, and then lower the boom on DB's ten yards downfield the way he does when he gets to the corner but not to the house. No way anyone wants to tackle that guy. That 26 yearder was a thing of beauty.

Percy Harvin = football player.

I also noticed Pat Williams' non-existence. At least Allen looked like he ate breakfast this week. The linebacking corp seems to be doing more to stop the run than the wall is.

Phil Loadholt = outstanding name. I just want to say it over and over. Doing so is like a soothing mantra.

Yeah...it was weird to watch the game and at no point become nervous that we aren't going to come back. Once we made the adjustment to stopping the run and forcing Stafford Infection to throw, the game was over. Very uneasy about the Williams wall. Maybe those Starcaps were really making the difference?

Niners coming to town this week. People out here are ridiculously hyped up...I think we need to beat them back down. Gore looks like the 2nd coming of AP, though, so I hope that run D figures it out soon.
