Top 10 Reasons I want to Punch Brad Childress

1. His mustache
2. T-Jac
3. His lack of nards
4. His offense
5. He has set the Vikes back 3 years
6. For making me take interest in that Vikes/Pack game last week
7. He almost lost to 'Pep'
8. Matt Schaub
9. Because I have to listen to idiots say things like "You know, the ball bounces our way a couple of times and we are a 7-3 team."
10. No reason, I just like a-punchin' people

Guys,
I enjoyed watching the Vikes (shocker) yesterday. But the problem is, if we hadn't been playing the Raiders, we would have been blown out of the game (see week 10 at Green Bay).

Chester looked awesome, and T-Jac looked better, but he still managed to throw one of the worst INTs I've ever seen, and fumble after standing in the pocket for like 9 seconds (even I would know to get out of there or throw it away by that point).

Childress has literally turned this team into a boring outfit with no ability to move the ball quickly downfield. The opening play was sweet, but what does it tell you when a WR completes the longest pass of the day.

The absolute CRUSHER was when he elected to punt on 4th and inches when a first down would have ended the game.

Hey, at least we won. And yes, my #2 answer (after him having no nards) would be that I just hate the 'stache.

Did he draft T-Jac or did he inherit him from the last brain trust? I remember T-Jac being called the next Daunte. I am not sure that was a good thing.

Anyway, my vote is for is for #9. If only we get a couple of breaks,if only we didn't have injuries, if only we had a QB who could throw the ball down field, if only...all those if onlys are why good teams are good and bad teams are bad.

Chuck,
Childy-nuts drafted T-Jack...and not only that, he passed up Kellen Clemens (now starting with the Jets) to do it (if I recall correctly).

I hear you...if "ifs and buts were candy and nuts", NU would be 8-4 and going to a bowl game. Unfortunately, we aren't, so we're done for the year.

Does anyone remember the last time this Vikes squad seemed destine for mediocrity for so long? Early 80's? We went to the playoffs every year with Denny, even if it was for nothing. During the Sheriff's tenure I remember thinking to myself "Self, if the Vikes stopped being 8-8, I could endure a few bad years if it meant getting to the promised land on a consistent basis"; well, we are in the midst of a few bad years, just waiting for that turn around, any day now.

Oh, in 1983 (or '84) the Vikes went 3-13 with Tommy Kramer, Wade Wilson, and Archie Manning as their qb's.

BG-
We both will be sitting around waiting for a bowl selection that just isn't going to happen. I guess any team that can't beat Western Michigan at home with a bowl berth on the line does not deserve to go to a bowl. If only...
