Vikings Draft 2012
We can go a number of ways with this one - unfettered excitement, guarded optimism, managed expectations, casual avoidance, stout indifference . . . point is they're moving to LA. Until that's solved, I'm in the 'guarded arousal' category.
7 Comments:
They already took the Lakers, why not take the Vikings too.

Wait - have things deteriorated? I haven't been paying attention to the stadium thing, not surprisingly. I thought there'd been some progress and the prognosis was much improved. No?

Don't get me going on the stadium situation. Oh, and hello, I'm back.
I can't vouch for the lower part of the Vikings draft, but for once, wasn't it great to see them make the right move at the top? Spielman actually created a market for the #3 spot (where no market existed) and managed to get 3 picks in exchange. Then, he took the guy we all wanted. A safe pick, but one that should reap rewards for 10 years.
If this stadium deal gets voted down (or never makes it to a vote), I am going to lose my shit. Some of these "out-state" representatives are so small-minded it's unbelievable.

BTW - did we really split a series with the Yankees a couple weeks ago? I figured MCA might be doing cartwheels in Chicago. Then again, we followed it up by getting swept in Tampa. Hooray.

And losing the first two of three to f'ing Kansas City. We've got the worst record in the Majors. Yippee.

Welcome back BG, always missed both for your commentary and for our tracking "user" stats.
It's very FLTOSBW of us that a Vikes draft post morphed into a "Twins suck" discussion.
Quick hits -
The Vikes stadium is being held up by Minnesota Republicans. It's embarrassing now.
Corrections - BG, the Twins won the first game of that series against Tampa. After the split in NYC I was excited. When they dropped the next two to the Rays and got swept by limping the Red Sox and lost last Friday night to the Royals, I gave up. Also, MCA, the Twins only lost that one game to the Royals, they won on Sunday after a rainout on Saturday. I say this only because I apparently care enough.
Also, Morneau is a pussy.
BTW - who else misses the Holy Bejebus! section? I for one do. First, I don't know where to go for my daily news now that the section is gone (RTS, I too can't figure out how to get it back so I apologize for the image of a monkey banging on a computer keyboard that popped into my head when I learned you erased it, sorry.) Secondly, how do I continue this blog's pro-Marijuana agenda?

Any luck figuring out how to add a poll? Oh it is easy to find suggestions how to monetize the blog, but to do anything creative that is buried deep deep in the archives. I love Google. I owned Google at a cost basis of $120 but they have screwed this all up. Note to Google, no matter how many times you ask me for my mobile number for security reasons, I am not going to provide it, nor am I going to add people to my circles. Sorry BG you were the latest person it suggested.
I got 99 problems but a stadium issue isn't one. Oh wait, I do have that problem.
With the exception of winning 2 against the Yanks, the Twins are exactly where I thought they would be when I posted the schedule through May the first. It was a brutal schedule. What really hurt was when the struggling Red Sox found their groove against the Twins. Didn't the Royals break a long losing streak too? Over under on games Morneau misses this year? 81 sounds good.
