Vikes 2011 - 2012 Let's Break It Down
Let's make our predictions for what is sure to not be another Championship season. These are simply just shootin' from the hit but I'm going with the old standby of 9-7. Yes, I realize that I have us going 4 - 7 then rattling off 5 wins, who doesn't like excitement?
at San Diego - L - Let the Leslie Frazier era begin with a loss.
vs. Tampa Bay - W - Gotta start somewhere
vs. Detroit - W - We will continue to own them, even if we didn't last year
at KC - L - Not good on the road against a team 3 years into rebuiliding
vs. Arizona - L - Our secondary will be torched
at Chicago - L - Even if he broke with Kristin Caveleri, Cutler will own up
vs. Green Bay - L - Yeah, right.
at Carolina - W - They're terrible, right?
at Green Bay - L - Yup.
vs. Oakland - W - Are they still bad? I think so.
at Atlanta - L - They will stomp us
vs. Denver - W - I'd think we take this
at Detroit - W - P'owned
vs. New Orleans - W - Because it doesn't matter, we'll win and everyone will feel vindicated
at Washington - W - They suck, right?
vs. Chicago - W - We beat them sometimes.

Let's give this a whirl:
First 3 games 1-2, drop SD and then one of the next two at home.
Next 3 games 2-1 and we aren't winning at Da Bears.
Next 3 1-2 Remember the year carolina was 1-15 and their only win was the Vikes? Just sayin' because I still think we get that win.
Next 3 2-1 We take out Oak and Den.
Last 4 well we are sitting at 6-6, square on the bubble. We drop at DET and NO, leaving just the slightest chance of making the playoffs. We take out Washington. Final week if Vikes win and 3 other teams lose they are in. Vikes win, move to 8-8, but still do not make the playoffs. Some idiot immediately picks the Vikes to be the team to watch next year.

Can't argue with any of this. Anywhere from 7-9 and 9-7 seems possible. Apparently, the offense was atrocious on Saturday night...but it's preseason, and AP didn't play.
I think you're right that they'll tease us until the bitter end by hovering around .500, winning a game they shouldn't (raising everyone's hopes) and then losing to Detroit or something like that.
Off topic - Delmon Young traded to Detroit. Yup...Bill Smith is at it again. I hate this move...but admittedly, I haven't followed DYoung that closely this year, and I know he's been banged up. But in the division? That means we likely face him 19 times next year...ugh.
