Memo to: Big T(12)en Officials

Re: Are you fucking serious with these football division names?

Please tell me you're not serious. Legends and leaders? Fuck off - really? You're just screwing with us.

Wait, you ARE serious, aren't you? Oh MY GOD! Why not Cars and Cows? Or Farms and Factories? How long did you spend deliberating on this? Was it in excess of 20 seconds?

You have brought shame to the entire Midwest. This fuels at least another 15 years of the rest of the country laughing at our lack of sophistication and our celebration of the cheesy.

Colossally Lame. Boo.

Sooooooooooooooooooo lame. It is like they sat down and said "We need something that will reinforce the stereotype that we field big slow teams, that the game of football has passed us by and that our best days are behind us."

Let's face it this is a confernce called the Big Ten but features 11 teams and is adding number twelve. Given that the conference lable does not fit, how about going with divisions labels that fit the conference but not the divisions. My vote would have been for Great Lakes and Heartland.

I like that idea, RTS. I had been thinking Great Lakes and Great Plains, but I like Heartland. Ten of the twelve schools are in a state that borders one of the Great Lakes - they can't work that in somehow?

Oh, and they also created 18 new "[insert position of player] of the year" awards, that are named not after 1 legendary (or leader?) player, but two! The Dayne-Griffin RB of the year?! C'mon...just pick one. And what is this? 3rd grade baseball, where everyone gets a trophy for participating?
