Great to see us make this move (and apparently Cabrera got a standing O in his first plate appearance), but WOW is our pitching in shambles. Glen Perkins is flat-out terrible. And Blackburn cruises for 6 innings every time out, yet Gardy trots him out there to start the 7th every time, and every time he gets shelled. I realize our bullpen is awful, but it's not that hard to recognize a trend.
I am depressed.
Per the steroids discussion...I think when it's all said and done, it's going to be way too hard to isloate the users from the non-users and to separate the steroid era from the non-steroid era. The recent news makes me despise Boston all that much more (sad to say, I used to pull for them, back when they were lovable losers). I guess I have a softer spot in my heart for the AAA guys trying to make the leap to the bigs who experiment a bit. AFter all it's their livelihood that they're fighting for. I guess you could argue that guys like A-rod and Papi are fighting for a monster contract...I just have no sympathy for them.
