Bomb Squad

That was fun yesterday. Kubel's 2nd was a bullet to the football press box. Fun to see a team with some power. Honestly, I don't remember this many dongs at the Dome since the Gopher's got crushed by Iowa to end the season (nuk, nuk.) Because it wasn't televised the highlights on the local news were provided by "Domevision" - can we at least keep that as part of Target Field?

I will assume when you wrote Iowa you meant to write Wisconsin.

All 162 Twins games are not on loacl TV? What is that all about?

Kubel's second homer was a shot. Having power in the lineup definitely still feels foreign

Tonights game could be ugly. I am going to say the final is 7-2 bad guys. Liriano gives up 6 runs in 5 innings and Hernandez pitches 7 strong innings for the M's.

Is Silva still in the M's rotation? I don't see him pitching in the week.

The good news: The Twins have scored 277 runs to date, that's 5.04 per game. That compares favorably to the recent past:
5.09 per game in 2008
4.43 per game in 2007
4.94 per game in 2006
4.25 per game in 2005
4.81 per game in 2004

and we're doing it a little differently this year as well, with the addition of the long ball to our repitoire. YTD 09 the Twins have hit 62HRs or 1.13 per game- that compares very favorably to the recent past:
0.68 per game in 2008
0.73 per game in 2007
0.88 per game in 2006
0.83 per game in 2005
1.18 per game in 2004

The bad news, the Twins have given up 270 runs to date, or 4.91 per, which does not compoare favorably to the recent past:
4.57 per game in 2008
4.48 per game in 2007
4.22 per game in 2006
4.09 per game in 2005
4.41 per game in 2004

YTD 2009 that is a .13 run per game delta- that isn't much to work/win with is it?

Look at the big brain on LH. Nice work. I was surprised we were hitting 1.18 home runs per game in 2004. Where was that coming from?

RTS - uh, yeah, I meant Wisconsin.

The games not all being on TV is dumb. What is dumber is that there is a HD station for Twins games but not all games are broadcast in HD (including those home games they do show on tv.) Obviously there is some reason for it which, I can assure you, is most likely dumb.

MCA and LH - I will be a game time decision for next weekend. Question, what games are you going to? LH are you going to 2?

Koskie, Torii and Jacques, most likely. In any order between the three of them.

I'll be at Sunday's game. LH, if you're there, let me know and we can meet up beforehand for a beer. If I'm not mistaken, you and I are the only ones on here who haven't actually met - let's complete this circle.

right on MCA
Koskie- 25
Jacque- 24
Torii- 23
Morneau- 19 (in only 74 games)
and... I can't believe I'm going to f_en type this, but
Lew Ford- 15
Cuddyer- 12

Again, can you believe Lew Ford hit 15HRs, batted .299 and led the team in Avg. and OBP in 2004? Apparently, my memory of him as a player was greatly tainted by 2006 (.226 AVG, 4HRs)

MCA- unfortunately I'm flying back on sun.(going to Fri and Sat. games), but at some point, you're right, we need to complete the circle- Perhaps we can still work something out pre/post-games especially if Jan makes the trip Jan- in an homage to TWIB: "You Make The Call"

Can't you hear Mel Allen?

I'll keep you posted. MCA - Redmond's still around? Very apropos for a possible meeting site.

Redmond's is indeed still in business. I don't know if it's a good idea to meet there, given the jinxing factor that place had on the Vikes, but it's a decent spot. Although I'm NW of Wrigley now, so I'd be more apt to suggest Tunes or Cullen's on Southport, or maybe even Justin's a little further south if it's nice enough to sit outside. My pop's flying in Sunday A.M., so he'll want to maximize grandkid time and stay close to our place, probably.

Keep me posted; LH, send me an e-mail Saturday when you're in the neighborhood and I'll see if I can't swing by somewhere for a beer. Also, let me know if you need suggestions on places to hang out, eat, etc. throughout the weekend - I don't know if you're staying with a local or know the territory yourself, but if not I'm happy to guide you around.
