Buscher, Baker, and the RBI-maker

I don't hate the Royals, honestly how can you, but they annoy me. Glad we got to Ponson on Friday night but that Saturday night game should have been a "W," not to mention the breakdown by Baker on Sunday - I was watching a no-no that turned into a "F! No!" quicker than you can say "Scott Baker is 0-4 with a 9.15 ERA." Meanwhile Joe is back. 7 for 10, 2 doubles, a home run, and 3 RBIs = great start. Oh, and when does the Joe Crede experiment end? Buscher get a legit chance at 3rd?

Seriously, how have the Twins won as many games as they have? Baker and Lirano are a combined 0-8. Crede, Punto, Gomez, Busher and Casilla are all hitting .225 or below and 3 of the 5 are below .200. Is Manny Mendoza the hitting coach?

Saturday hurt more for me as I was following the game, big Saturday night I know. Sunday I only caught the recap.

Sounds like our defense and baserunning have been atrocious as well. What is it with this team and April/May?!? We need to turn it on before mid-June one of these years.

And yes, it appears we easily could have - and should have - won both Saturday and Sunday's games. Ugh.

P.S. Yeah - you can't hate the Royals, but is it wrong that I expect to win all 19 games we play against them every year?

Well, Liriano finally got off the schnide last night. Certainly a good sign. My humble opinion: the reasons they've won as many games as they have while still sitting last in the majors in run differential are (1) luck, (2) some clutch hitting late in close games, and (3) Joe Nathan. They should rightly be 5 games worse right now, but they're winning the tight ones. That can't last forever, so let's hope Mauer's presence makes a 2 runs/gm. difference for the offense, and Baker and Liriano settle down.

I think it's time to send Gomez down, don't you all? Span, Young and Cuddyer could probably benefit from the regularity of being everyday. We've found our DH.

Agree on the DH... solid, agree on CG going down to the minors- won't feel like a win- win, but I think it would benefit him as much as the team in the long run.

Nice to see both Crede and Cuddy contributing big time last night and Liriano pitch a gem... boy we needed that
