What, we don't want to talk about the loss at MSU?

It's been a full day since that debacle at East Lansing for the Gopher hoops. Are we over it? I am.

Possibly the worst single night of non-tourney college basketball ever for me: Gophs handed their rears for the second time by MSU and Duke gets absolutely throttled at Clemson. Makes me want to take a couple weeks off on the sports fan thing.

Not much good to talk about in our core FLSBW sports areas right now. Gophs hockey got slammed last weekend, too. Twins have still accomplished approximately nothing the entire offseason, other than getting Kubel re-signed for a decent number.

How 'bout that Larry Fitzgerald? Two questions: 1) is he the best WR in the game right now? 2) is he the best athlete out of Minnesota since Paul Molitor? I'm not sure on 1) but I think so on 2).

Can we talk about the fact that the very first thing I saw when I picked up the WSJ this morning was a picture of Sid Hartman on the front page? He's apparently one of the many surprises of people revealed to have been caught in the Madoff web in yesterday's BK filings, along with John Malkovich and Sandy Koufax. I thought I had gotten away from that mug.

That game was ridiculous. Luckily, I watched on DVR and soon began fast-forwarding through it. It was almost flukey how badly the Gophers played, and how well MSU played. They hit everything and didn't turn it over...we couldn't score, and threw the ball away like 10 times in the first 10 minutes. I'm not too concerned...MSU was destined to break out of their funk. They would have beaten anyone they played last night.

MCA - I think the Fitzgerald answers are Yes and Yes. Proud that he's from MN. Apparently, he went to a year of boarding school after Holy Angels, which really put him on the recruiting map.

Wait, Sid got taken by Madoff?? Wow, this really is far-reaching. Although it seems to be a who's who of well-known Jewish folks. Must have been weird to see Sid's face in the Journal.
