The blog formerly about a daily dose of mostly Minnesota sports rants and raves with a sprinkling of general sports commentary and a pinch of jaded-malaise regarding the world around us

First, who put up that link to the shredding company videos? AWESOME.

Also, to add to the non-sports hijinks today (slow sports week, I guess), there's this: http://www.amazon.com/Playmobil-3172-Security-Check-Point/dp/B0002CYTL2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top, which has produced what has to be the funniest bunch of snarkity snark product reviews ever seen on Amazon.

I especially liked this one: "I like the basic idea. I applaud Playmobile for attempting to provide us with the tools we need to teach our children to unquestioningly obey the commands of the State Security Apparatus, but unfortunately, this product falls short of doing that. There's no brown figure for little Josh to profile, taser, and detain? Where are all the frightened plastic Heartlanders pointing at the brown figure as they whisper "terrorist?" Where are the hippy couple figures being denied boarding passes? And shouldn't someone be forcing a mother figure to drink her own breast milk?"

The beauty of FTLOSBW is that you get posts that reference Playmobil. By the way, went to buy a Playmobil toy for my nephew who is 4, can the packaging and branding be better? The box is basically a picture of what is inside with some icons that show what other Playmobil themes the toy is compatible with and that's it - no disclaimers or waivers or hyped up marketing. Feels every bit German as it is.

But I digress. Playmobil "Gitmo" would be great.

I will admit that I read most of the comments. MCA you picked the best one. This one caught my attention for it's different appraoch:

This toy set is clearly a re-enactment of one of the most priceless scenes in one of the greatest rock movies of all time, "This is Spinal Tap". But if that's the case, how could they possibly leave out the best part of the entire scene--the Playmobil bass player with Playmobil aluminum foil zucchini in his jock??? Seriously, this isn't rocket scientry. I'm disappointed.

I will take credit for the shredder post.

Figured that was you, rts. Nice find. I liked the bowling balls and pins, but the way one of the machines munched down a VW bug was one of the coolest things I've seen in a while.

As long as they're at it with the airport theme, I'd like to see a Playmobil MSP Int'l Airport Men's Bathroom set.

I picture to the Larry Craig Playmobile figure to look like either A)he just got done riding a horse or B) was left in the sun too long warping his legs into the wide stance.

I am going to go with the washing machine and the shopping carts as the two I would show a "newbie".

I liked the more highly produced video of the Ford Escort getting crushed. Amazing...how cool would it be to be a sales rep for this company...

Miraculous Gopher hoops win last night. Wisco completely melted down at the end of the game, and the Gophers hit some clutch shots and played awesome full-court defense.

Totally huge win. That's two conference road wins, without having visited Evanston or Bloomington yet. It's even more huge in the longer term perspective though - think what a victory in Kohl like that does Tubby's "Seal The Border" initiative. When Bo Ryan walks his greasy hair and mock turtleneck into the next Jon Leuer's house, I don't think he gets as much benefit of the doubt as he's become used to.
