FTLOSBW Lands top Recruit

On Saturday January 3, 2009 at 2:30pm, FTLOSBW landed its youngest and most highly anticipated recruit when Ilsa Olsten Peterson entered the world. The 9 pound, 21.25 inch Lady FTLOSBWer will no doubt bring a whole new perspective to both the blog and to Jan's daily life.

Jan, congratulations to you and your wife. I really thought that this was going to be the edge that pushed the Vikings to the next round. I know, too much presure on a one day old. My only word of advice is that the swaddling thing seems kind of wierd but it works.

P.P., meant to respond to the text message with the picture, but I'll congratulate you here, instead. Way to go to both you and Sarah! Long time coming, I know. Best of luck in the coming days and weeks of adjusting to the new life. You'll love it, and I suspect you're a natural.

Your news certainly helps take the sting out of that stinker of a game yesterday for me, and I'm sure the rest of the gang here at FLSBW.

Stenerud,
Hear hear!! Congratulations! Loved the picture text...I hope all is well.

That game yesterday sucked. Was it me, or did it feel like we kind of controlled game, except for the pick 6 and the Westbook run?!? I guess I should say our D controlled the game, except for one play. Which brings me to my larger point:

The loss is totally, 100% on the offense...and it wasn't just T-Jack. I blame Bevell, too. why are we running long-developing handoffs on 3rd and 1?!? Just jam it down their throats, or roll T-Jack out on a play-action or something!! There was zero creativity yesterday and it was painful to watch. Why not more designed QB runs?

Another big question is: what do we do at QB? We're at a critical point where if we want to stick with T-Jac, we'll need to sign him to a modest extension. If not, we need to draft someone. I tried to envision McNabb in Purple yesterday, and definitely would have been an improvement. He wasn't spectacular - he just didn't make mistakes.

Honestly, no one really expected this team to have a chance at winning it all, so that makes it a little easier to take.

Who are the key free agents that we'll likely lose? Sharper, Birk...anyone else? Speaking of him, I think we missed Sharper in the 2nd half, as the Iggles completed like 10 passes down the middle for 10-15 yards. I know we've bagged on him this year, but I think he could have helped us yesterday...

Log this one under holy bejebus, although it may not be a big deal. Either way, it's example 294 why Mike Tice is the perfect offensive line coach, not HEAD coach.

P.S. I just re-watched that vid, and I don't think Tice even has a beer in his hand, so file this one under hilarious and kind of meat-headish, but no harm no foul. Oh well...sounds like something he would do.

Sorry for my late reply... yesterday was spent unpiling after two full weeks off from work... god it was great.

Jan-again a formal congratulations to you, S, I and C... a family of four- you're becoming a great american. I can't say that I know what it feels like, but I gotta imagine it is a big ball of: Excitement, Awesomeness, Enjoyment and perpetual Fear all rolled into one.

All I can say is that knowing you and Mrs. Stenerud...she will be one lucky kid.
