MCA - love it. I recently attended one of those "Dunkers" events and the guest speaker was Rob McClanahan from that team. Talk about a charmed life. Anyway, he brought up the account of Brooks during that gold medal game when they were down to the Finns he came into the dressing room turned to his players and said, "If you lose this game, you'll take it to your fucking graves." He then paused, took a few steps, turned again, said, "Your fucking graves," and walked out.

P.S. What do you think Gardy usually says pre-game against the Yankees.

"Hey guys, we've lost like 21 of the last 22 to these guys, so the bar is pretty low. Maybe we'll take 1 out of 3. Go get 'em!"

by the way, the 1980 olympic talk made me want to go pull up that SI cover from that game - the only time SI has ever run a cover without a caption. That says something pretty incredible in and of itself. It never stops getting me excited.

About what, I have no idea.
