Reason #4,672 I hate the Green Bay Packers

You guys probably don't care so much, but they just hired NU's Athletic Director to be their team president. The problem is, he was actually a great AD who helped us become a respectable athletic program (not to the Stanford, Duke, UCLA, Michigan level, but I'll take it), and now he's going to work for one of my personal evil empires (screw all that 'awww, they're so cute because the public owns them and their in the smallest U.S. market among NFL teams' stuff).

Found this interesting, too. Here are the most recent directors' cup standing for all-sports. The 'U' looks pretty good...(teams of note in bold)

1. Stanford 2. UCLA 3. North Carolina 4. Michigan 5. USC 6. Florida 7. Tennessee 8. Texas 9. Cal 10. Arizona State 11. Duke 12. Georgia 13. Virginia 14. Ohio State 15. Florida State 16. Wisconsin 17. LSU 18. Texas A&M 19. Auburn 20. Minnesota 21. Penn State 22. Notre Dame 23. Wake Forest 24. Arizona 25. Oklahoma 26. BYU 27. Nebraska 28. Louisville 29. Washington 30. Northwestern

BG - feel it. How 'bout working in Mpls and seeing half the people dressed in Favre jersey's?

Listening to local sports talk this morning on the drive in and Mark Rosen was on KFAN saying how we should respect Favre and what he's done/doing. It would be so much easier to do that if the people from the state of Wisconsin didn't make me want to drown them in a shallow river.

My problem isn't with Brett Farve, my problem is with the man love that the annoucers have for him.

For example "The reason Brett Farve threw that INT is because he is such a competitor."

Where if it was T-Jac "He needs to learn to avoid throwing into double coverage when the corner has saftey help coming over the top."

Farve by far has the most nut huggers in the league.

I was unable to see the game last night, so I can not comment on Farve's performance. It will be interesting to see how Farve's competitive nature helps/ more likely hinders his team next week as he will attempts to keep his streak alive after seperating his left shoulder last night. You know the annoucers will praise him even as he sinks his team "He truely is a warrior playing hurt. You can clearly see this is not the same Brett Farve we used to."

As for the college standings- The PAC 10 has 5 schools in the top ten. End of arguement there.

Yeah...my issue with Favre isn't so much Favre, it's a) packer fans that think he is the greatest player in NFL history, and b) the aforementioned man-love. Peter King seriously has a crush on him, and Madden won't know what to do with himself after Favre retires.

Chuck - I was thinking the same thing about the Pac 10. Seriously dominant in non-revenue sports (and sometimes revenue sports).
