Jerry Sandusky: Acquitted on Three Counts

Well, Jerry, I am about to go do something horribly sinful so I can be sure to get my chance to see you in Hell.

I am watching his lawyer, and he literally just said that 45 of 48 counts coming back guilty doesn't suggest to him that he is sick.  I swear I think he is basically saying "This is one of the more guilty people I have ever represented. You know, just so much molesting,  and then the seemingly unending amounts of evidence about the molesting and such.  Our strategy was mostly to, you know, try to get him acquitted on one or two of the massive amounts of charges, and we did that.  But, yeah, pretty much see where all the other "guilties" are all coming from."

Mission accomplish, Jerry Sanduskky legal team! Look, im no Perry Mason but its good to know that legal representation in this country still exists. Here is the most reviled human in recent American history and his attorney is fighting for him. Now, personally I think Jerry needs to be put down like the animal he is, preferably publicly, but him getting a fair fight is what we're all about.

I must admit that, despite being the lone attorney here on FTLoSBW, I paid no attention to this trial at all. It's just too sad and scary and gross, I guess, and after the original allegations came out and the entirety of the Penn State football program collapsed, I spent enough time thinking about it all to last a lifetime.

Out of curiosity, though, what was the reason the three charges got tossed? Did they go to the jury with the rest and they just didn't believe the accusers in those cases? Did they not get anyone on the stand and so not really have any evidence on those charges? Or was it something else?

45 separate counts of molestation is pretty astounding. He'll have one hell of a time in whatever pen he ends up at, I'm sure. I think the rest of his life will probably be harder punishment than being executed. I hope that at some point Sandusky can somehow add a little positive karma to the world, not through redemption, which might be an impossibility, but through some treatment leading to an actual contrition and understanding of what he's done and maybe an apology to the victims and their families that can help those people. But I fear that, as with many who've committed such atrocities, his wires are irrevocably crossed and he'll never comprehend what he's done.

One can only hope that the "tickle monster" gets the eye for an eye treatment in prison.

Well, RTS may get what he wants, in some way or another. I guess his roommates were able to follow the trial. I can only imagine the horror and confusion you'd feel walking to your cell and having this happen:

oh, you know what? I got it. It's probably a little like the horror and confusion you'd feel when, you know, you're a child and your coach molests you in a shower. Come pn dysfunctional corrections system --please keep his shoelaces away from him for a little longer.
