Vikings Lose, Hoplessness Continues

Moral victories are for fat kids and people who come in 2nd. Christian Ponder looked like Todd Bouman when Bouman replaced 'Pep and completed 21 of 31 passes for 384 yards and four touchdowns against the Titans in 1997 (well, not that good.) Just sayin', let's not get ahead of ourselves with the glimmer of hope we place on Ponder.

Vikings are 2 years (at least) from being an 8-8 team. Holes we have:

1. Offensive Line - All
2. Defensive - only 10 of 11 positions as Jared Allen continues to show up.
3. Wide Receiver - All (maybe not Percy in the slot but. . . )
4. Coaching staff - All
5. Special Teams - why does every other team have a guy who kicks it thru the end zone on kickoffs and we've got Longwell who still only boots it to the 5?

Oh, and it's clear that the Pack are going to win the Superbowl again.

I wrote this one off before it ever started. By the final score it looks like I was a bit premature, but none the less it was still a L. My time spent scrap booking with little RTS seems well spent at this point. I did see the nut shot/ cheap shot.

I did see some Minnesota sports action this weekend. With the Thrashers now in Winnipeg (are they the Winnipeg Thrashers are did they change the name to the Jets or something?) and the NBA locked out, there is a void for Friday night sports television in the ATL. At the restaurant we were at on Friday one set of TVs had the Gopher hockey game on. Due to our slow/poor service I was able to watch a good period and a half of the Gophers schooling Vermont. Hopefully next time when we go back and cash in the free entree we received for said service, the Gophs will be on again.
