Taking a break from the Gopher hockey pity party I started, I thought I'd bring up two Twins items:
1. I've got my hands on tix for one of the weekend Twins games at Wrigley in June. Won't happen again until, what? 2015? Feel free to join me.
2. Let's start talking about Twins Home Operner 2010 and how we're getting tickets. Because we are getting tickets.

1. MCA, I'm actually coming to Chicago with Sarah in June (bringing the new arrival.) She has to work, we were starting to talk about dates, when?
2. Like you all, I have thought about this since they announced the new stadium. I have no doubt we can get to the home opener, who is in? I will start asking around.

MCA, Jan... I believe I will be at Wrigley for those June games as well this year (as part of our annual stadium tour, we're going to try and go to Wrigley, Cellular and Miller Park). It would be great if our path's crossed- and I look forward to the opportunity of formally meeting MCA.
re: the opener, ah me. Been looking forward to this day for a very long time- I would definitely try to arrange a trip back home to coincide with the opener.

1.) I am out for Chicago this summer although I would love to make it back there.
2.) I am in for the Home Opener, assuming it does not conflict with the Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meeting. My dad and I are talking about going next year.
3.) I would love to make it up to Minneapolis for the Gopher /USC football game. Not sure what year that is.

Now we're talking! I am in for Twins opener in 2010. I also think a Gopher football roadtrip is in order. I was planning to go to the Cal / MN game this fall, but I have a conflict and can't make it. Fall of 2010 may work nicely. I believe the Gophers play USC at home that year.
Would love to see the Twins at Cubs, but I likely won't be able to swing it, unless I can weasel a work trip to Chicago. I saw them at Wrigley in 2001, which was fun.

P.S. USC at Minnesota on Sept. 18th, 2008. Should be relatively nice out...and maybe, just maybe, USC will finally be in rebuilding mode?
P.P.S. GREAT analysis of the gopher hockey situation. I don't follow it closely enough to comment intelligently. I will say that, from an objective point of view, Gopher fans have a right to carry high expectations (well done, MCA). That said, I would really hope we never become Kentucky basketball fans. I think Lucia gets another full year, but after that, his hall pass expires. A national title buys you about 5 years...so his seat should at least be luke-warm by now.

I am in for Chicago, the Twins opener, Cal game and the USC game...I heart Minnesota.
If we do catch USC in a rebuilding year I'm guessing that would mean that they come into the game as only a 5 touchdown favorite.. that team has been a machine since Pete's second year, even when they lose 1/2 their starters to the NFL.
